The district of Sunja extends on the central part of the Sisačko-Moslovaèka County with 40 villages located in an area of 288,25 sq.km.The place of Sunja is situated on the half of the way between Sisak and Hrvatska Dubica on the arterial road No. D 224 and at the crossroads for Hrvatska Kostajnica. Geographically, the district of Sunja covers the flat territory along the Sava River and the gentle hills spreading to the parts of the slopes of the Zrinska Mountain. Just these facts have brought to the development of four original values in the way of life of the inhabitants of this district.In this area a specific rural architecture has been cultivated such as a wodden cottage of Podravina, the original hunting dog a so-called “Posavina pointer”, then a original horse breed a “Croatian Posavian” as well as a specific folk costume in the way “white on white”.
