The area of Buje is situated between the river Mirna and the river Dragonja which is the border with the republic of Slovenija, at the same time. The country side is hilly waved covered by vineyarads, olivetrees and oak, turkey-oak,and pine woods as well as with moors full of Mediteranean flora, first of all wild thyme and juniper-trees. Kanegra is a characteristic rugged part of the countryside of the area of Buje streching to the sea, with the beach of Kanegra, coverd with low Mediteranen vegetation, a luxuriant, large pinewood touching the beach covered with white coblestones polished by the sea water. The large touruist village, the first, when you enter the Croatian part of Istra, has got bungalows protected by the shadow of the pinetrees, restaurants with balconies where from you can see Piran’s gulf and the salterns.Momjan is presented with the ruins of its castle from the 13th century and the nearby medioval church of St. Martin.
