Welcome to Petrinja – the city of tradition, culture and rich natural surroundings! Petrinja is located in donje Pokuplje on the delta of the Petrrinjčica river into the Kupa river. As a crossroad, Petrinja is 58 km away from Zagreb, 13 from Sisak, 33 from the Topusko treatment center, and 45 from the border of B&H. There are 23,413 inhabitents living in the city area of 380,94 km2, while there are 13,801 inhabitents in the close vicinity of the city. Petrinja is a city of culture and education, a city of music and adventures with more and more workshops for pottery and weaving. In this ways the century old custums and traditions are being nurtured and preserved. Artists create, and the galleries “Krsto Hegedušić” and “Žilić” invite you to see their intrerpretation of Petrinja. Petrinja is the city of the first Croatian salami factory “Gavrilović” who’s products offer a high quality gastronomic experience thanks to their secret recipies. The active surroundings invite you to bike riding, recreative mountain climbing on Hrastovička mountain, hunting and fishing, and you will meet numerous ideal villages with the remaims of sacral and worldly constructions surrounded by pure nature.
