SMOKVICA is one of the oldest places located in the inner part of the island of Korèula and is only 4 km away from the Brna bay. The inhabitants are famous producers of the popular sort of wine, POŠIP, which is made from the same named grapes from limited locations. The parish church of Gospa Kandalore dominates over Smokvica. There, in front of the loggia is the KUMPANJIJA, the traditional game with swards. On the southern side of the island in the bay surrounded by a dense pine forest is the town of BRNA. The pebble bay ISTRUGA which is rich with natural medical mud, stretches along the immediate vicinity of this town.
