Nature Park Medvednica was founded on June 16, 1981 by the Croatian parliament. It spreads on the area of the City of Zagreb, Zagreb’s and Krapinsko-zagorska districts. The area of the Park is 22.826 ha. Natural forests and forest communities are fundamental phenomenon, which spread over 14.550 ha which makes 64% of the total area of the Park, while the remaining part consists of orchards, vineyards, farming cultures, and various constructed objects.
