Lumbarda (1200 inhabitents) is located on the eastern cape of the forested island of Korčula, and only 6 km away from the old city of Korčula. It is surrounded by a picturesque landscape of a well-indented seacoast that is enriched with sandy beaches, crystal clear sea, the scent of mediterranean plants, olive groves, and vineyards of the popular Grk wine. There are approximately 20 islets in front of Lumbarda in which Badija and Vrnik dominate. Arheological monuments, old castles and churches testify of the rich history. The remarkable psefism of Lumarda written in stone from the 3rd century B.C. confirm the settlement of Greek colonists.
