UMAG is a small town and port on the north-west coast of Istra and it’s the first city you will reach when approaching Istria from western Europe.
It is an important administrative centre and a seaside resort, only 40 km from Triest, 150 km from Ljubljana and 50 miles from Venice. The world famous ATP tour, the tennis tournament which takes place just here every year, is the best evidence of the development of Umag. From the turists’ point of view, no less attractive is the landscape of rivers, the Dragonja and the Mirna, surrounded by the rivera of Savudrija, Umag and Novigrad.
